French law allows international students to work no more than 884 hours in a given year if they have a residency permit and are enrolled in an institution that participates in the student health plan of the French social protection system (Sécurité Sociale). Participating institutions include all universities, most schools of engineering and business, some schools of French as a foreign language (such as the Alliance Française of Paris for programs of 3 months or more). You will need a written offer of employment when you apply for temporary employment authorization, which you must do before working with a student visa. Last I heard the minimum wage in France is €8.44 per hour. Few jobs exist for people who do not speak French.

Yes you can under certain conditions and the law changed two years ago to make it easier for both the student and the employer: now (since 7/1/07) foreign students NO LONGER NEED AN EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION and they can work up to 964 hours a year. You only need to show the employer your Student Residency card (Carte de séjour - mention étudiant) which you can & must apply for at the local prefecture if you have a long-term student visa. http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/particuliers/F2713.xhtml?&n=Etrangers%20en%20France&l=N8&n=Travail%20des%20%C3%A9trangers%20&l=N107 (It's in French, can't find any updated document in English) Minimum wage is now 8.71 € gross, which means a net of 6.84 € (gross minus 21.5% for social charges). You'll have no income tax to pay on that. http://www.lentreprise.com/outils/indice-chiffre/article/11263.html (Next increase should be on January 1 instead of the traditional date of July 1 as it is now the case. It is increased at least once a year, usually more often)

Will my Cingular Blackberry 8800 work in Paris

Will my Cingular Blackberry 8800 work in Paris?
I'm going to Paris next weekend and wondering if I should bring my phone or not. And if so, whether it will cost a fortune to use.

The answer to both questions is yes, however you do have another less expensive option and that is to get Cingular to "Unlock" your phone. In order to do that you must contact Cingular directly and request the unlock (it takes 3-5 business days) Once your phone is unlocked when you get to France purchase an Orange France SIM card and put it in your phone. The coverage map below details where you will have service and how strong it is. If you choose to use Cingular and not unlock your phone you will pay anywhere from $0.99 per minute up to $1.29 per minute. http://www.gsmworld.com/cgi-bin/ni_map.pl?cc=fr&net=fr Good luck

If you live in Britain are your only choices of Disneyland parks to work at Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong?
Or can you work at Disneyland, or WDW too in the United States? I'm actually not from Britain i'm curious for a friend. But, are you not supposed to come to the Disneyland and WDW since there's already so many people who want to work there in the U.S.?

You would probably be better off at a Disney park where English is the main language, right? Then you have to deal with getting the proper papers to be able to work abroad. Hong Kong used to belong to Britain; maybe that would be a good choice for you.

Walt Disney World actively recruits cast members from other countries, especially to work at Epcot. I don't know the process, but perhaps looking at the corporate job openings for Disney
